Cat Janice, a famous singer and TikTok personality, passed away at 31 after fighting cancer, as her family announced on Instagram. She died peacefully at the house where she grew up, with her family by her side.

Her family said, “This morning, Cat went to a beautiful place, filled with light and love. We’re so grateful for the kindness and support from everyone during this time. Cat’s music reached more people than she ever dreamed, and it will help take care of her son. We couldn’t have done this without you all. Thank you so much.”

Cat battled a type of cancer called sarcoma. While she was very sick, she made a song for her son Loren, who is 7. The song is called “Dance You Outta My Head.” She made this song to help her son after she was gone, sharing on TikTok that her music was her legacy for him. She thanked her music label and everyone who supported her.

Her song did really well, making it to number 11 on a big music chart. Cat was so happy and thankful for everyone’s support, saying it was a dream come true.

Sarcoma is a name for many kinds of cancer that start in bones or soft parts of the body like muscles. There are over 70 types of sarcoma.

Cat found out she had sarcoma in 2022 because she found a lump in her neck. She had surgery and many treatments, but in January, she said the cancer was too strong, and she had to go to hospice care.

A video report says that Cat, a singer from DC, died after her fight with cancer and talks about her last song that was for her son.

Sarcoma’s survival rate is different depending on many things, but on average, 65% of people with it are still alive five years later. If the cancer hasn’t spread, more people survive. But if it has spread far, fewer people do.

If found early, surgery can cure sarcoma. But it’s harder to cure if it’s very advanced, especially if it has spread to places like the lungs.

Sarcoma and carcinoma are different kinds of cancer. Carcinoma is more common and starts in different body parts like the breast or colon. Sarcoma can start in various places and looks different under a microscope.

Scientists aren’t sure what causes sarcoma, but things like previous radiation treatment, certain chemicals, a family history of cancer, or a damaged lymph system might increase the risk.
