Al Roker has announced the death of his sister, Patricia, following a stroke. The Today show host shared the news on Instagram alongside a photo of his sister and late mother, Isabel. In the caption, Roker affectionately revealed that Patricia’s nickname was Boo and added that she leaves behind a devoted husband, Nigel, and her children, Langston and Adam. Roker’s co-workers, including Sheinelle Jones, commented with heart emojis on the post. Earlier this month, Roker was hospitalized for blood clots in his legs and lungs and was released a few days ago.
He also recently announced the loss of a dear friend, Mark Traub, who died after a long battle with leukemia.
In addition to the loss of his sister and friend, Roker has also been dealing with his own health issues. He was hospitalized in early November due to blood clots in his legs and lungs and returned home on Thanksgiving. However, he was rushed back to the hospital the following day.
An eyewitness said that Roker’s condition was worrying, but once back in the hospital, he improved. Roker’s wife, Deborah Roberts, was understandably upset, the eyewitness added. Roker was released from the hospital a few days ago and is now back at home with his family.
