A 25-year-old lady, who was super healthy and always moving and doing stuff, suddenly got very sick with a rare kind of cancer in her bile duct. She had to say goodbye too soon, but she left behind a really touching note asking everyone to find happiness in the small moments of everyday life.
Her name was Daniella Thackray, and she passed away in February. Before she left, she shared her feelings with the world, and lots of people from different places read her message and felt touched by her words.
Daniella really loved her life. She was happy with what she had accomplished, loved her job, her future husband Tom, her family, her friends, and even her dog. She was excited about the house they were planning to buy and the life they were dreaming of together. When she got sick, instead of being sad about what she was losing, she chose to enjoy every single moment she had left.
Daniella used to work for an ad agency and described herself as very healthy before she got sick with this cancer in July 2023. The sickness changed everything, but Daniella focused on the love she had for her people and her life.
She believed that even if we can’t control bad things happening to us, we can choose how we react. Daniella’s big message was to appreciate the little joys in life, love your life a lot, and do things that make you happy without letting anyone take that happiness away.
At the end, she left a special message for her fiancé, Tom, encouraging him to find happiness in his life because he deserved it.
Daniella’s boss at her job remembered her as the brightest and most joyful person. To honor Daniella, her company is helping to raise money for a place called St Gemma’s hospice.
Daniella spoke out against the type of cancer she had, calling it a really mean and tough sickness that wasn’t caused by anything she did. It’s a kind of cancer that not many people get, but it’s very serious and hard to treat because it spreads quickly.
Even though doctors and scientists are trying hard, finding the cancer early and treating it is really tough. Daniella hoped that more research would be done so in the future, others might not have to go through what she did.
