Wife Updates Military Husband About Their Premature Newborn Twins, Not Knowing There’s A Surprise Lurking Behind Her Back!
Giving birth to a new life is a blessing, but it can also be an experience that is both exciting and scary at the same time. Lucky to those women who have their support system behind them. But to the military wives, they know that there will come a time that they give birth without their husband beside them.
Cydney Cooper knows this the moment she got pregnant with her twins with Staff Sgt. Skyler Cooper. Being deployed abroad is not easy, not only for the Sgt. Cooper who will go to Kuwait, but most especially for his wife who has to go through her pregnancy with their twins. Aside from the babies inside her belly, she also has to single-handedly take care of their two sons! She is a superwoman.
We all know that being pregnant with twins will never be easy. There can be complications which can lead to premature delivery. This is what happened to Cydney.
Towards the end of her pregnancy, she came down with the flu. She was only 33 weeks pregnant by then, but she had no choice but to give birth to her twins. As a result, her two daughters: Emma and Kyla, were born prematurely.
Since he is miles away from his family, Skylar was not there to be by his wife’s side during the delivery. She did not make it in time, but he made sure that he and Cydney kept their communication lines open. He would text, call, and video chat as often as he can to get updates about his wife, their sons, and their twins.
Cydney was so happy to see that both Emma and Kyla are getting stronger and healthier every day. She knew that Skylar would be very excited to finally meet their daughters but she knows that it might not happen very soon.
When the twins celebrated their 12th day at the NICU, the eager mom cradled one baby at a time in her arms while taking a picture of her daughters using her other hand. Skylar was texting her all day, asking for updates and photos of the twins. Cydney was happy to give him the updates too! She knows how excited her husband is.
Little did she know that while texting Skylar with her back to the door while in the NICU room, a surprise awaits!
When the nurse came into the room, she has the surprise that involved…
“1 year of crazy, 1000s of miles, 1 solo pregnancy and delivery, 48392 Skype calls, some superheroes, a few plane rides, 12 NICU days, tons of help from family and friends, and many tears later…”
“A soldier came home.”
That is according to Cydney’s Facebook post.
On the video that captured this most amazing moment, Cydney was busy texting Skylar on her phone. He walked up behind her with flowers and balloons on his hand, surprising his brave wife. She was brought to tears but as soon as they hugged each other, everything surely felt all right.
On her Facebook post, she also added:
“I promise I hugged him–that is just me realizing everything is finally okay.”
When she posted this video on her Facebook account, thousands of people shared it and congratulated the lucky parents for their twin daughters. We sure can’t help but be touched by military coming home videos, and this is surely one of the best ones.
