Robert and Patricia Lloyd, a married couple who were both very sick, sadly passed away together in what seems like a plan they made because they wanted to stay together. They were found in a special little house in their garden in Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, late at night on June 1st.
They breathed in a gas called propane, and that’s what caused them to pass away, the court in Shrewsbury was told.Their daughter, Sarah Davis, who talked to the court from far away in Australia, said that she’s glad her parents are now peaceful and together. She shared how much she loved her parents and how hard it is without them. She mentioned her dad had lung cancer and her mom had dementia and a brain tumor. On the day it happened, Mr. Lloyd, who used to be a police officer, picked up Mrs. Lloyd from her care home, which he did often.
But that day, they didn’t come back as expected. Later, a worker from the care home and her husband found them in their favorite little house in their garden. The police said it looked like they were there by themselves and weren’t hurt by anyone else.Their daughter talked about how much her parents loved that little house because they could see their beautiful garden from it. Mrs. Lloyd had always hoped to be surrounded by her family at the end.
She was going to move to a different home for more care the very next day.Mrs. Davis also shared how she had a video call with her parents that morning, and they were both really happy, especially her mom. She even recorded the call because her mom was in such a good mood.
Looking back, Mrs. Davis thinks her mom knew it would be their last talk. The police officer who watched the video agreed her mom seemed happy and clear-minded.In the end, the court said Mr. Lloyd chose to leave the world on his own terms. As for Mrs. Lloyd, it was said she was clear-minded and with her husband when she passed away. Their daughter remembered them as loving each other very much.
