Shari Lewis sang a song called “The Song That Doesn’t End” with her puppet, Lamb Chop, and she was right – it really hasn’t ended!

Now, lots of new kids are getting to know Lamb Chop, thanks to Shari’s daughter, Mallory Lewis. Mallory is using TikTok to share videos of Lamb Chop and keep the fun going.

Lamb Chop was a puppet made and brought to life by Shari Lewis, a talented puppeteer. The two of them were famous for their TV show, “Lamb Chop’s Play-Along,” which was a big hit on PBS in the 1990s. But Lamb Chop’s adventures with Shari started way before that.

Shari first showed the world Lamb Chop on a show called “Captain Kangaroo” in 1956. After that, Lamb Chop and Shari were on many TV shows, winning awards and making people happy.

Lamb Chop was so special, she even had her own show on PBS from 1992 to 1995. And Lamb Chop wasn’t just a TV star; she was like part of Shari’s family. Mallory, Shari’s daughter, used to sleep with Lamb Chop every night when she was little, and so did her son, James.

Now, Mallory is making sure Lamb Chop’s adventures keep going. She posts videos on TikTok with Lamb Chop, showing she’s just as good a puppeteer as her mom was.

Mallory also talks about whether the Lamb Chop she uses is the same one her mom did. Plus, she shares videos of Lamb Chop’s friends, Hush Puppy and Charlie Horse.

Mallory used to work behind the scenes on “Lamb Chop’s Play-Along,” but after her mom passed away in 1998, she decided it was important to keep Lamb Chop “alive” by performing with her.

And good news – Lamb Chop’s story, along with Shari’s, is going to be told in a new documentary called “Shari & Lamb Chop.” It’s made by Cassidy Hartmann, who’s won awards for her documentaries. The documentary will first be shown at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, and they’re still figuring out how more people can see it later.
