Pregnant Mom Might Spend Time Behind Bars After Letting Toddler Pee In A Parking Lot

If you have a child and they need to pee at the most unexpected time, what do you do? Will you let him or her pee anywhere as long as nobody’s looking? Maybe on the side of road would be a good idea or in a parking lot?

If you say yes, then you might want to change that habit soon. Learn from the experience of this mom.

Brooke Johns, a very pregnant mother from Georgia was due to give birth. However, she might be facing jail time after she let her 3-year-old son urinate in the parking lot of a gas station.

Mom and son were driving in Augusta, Georgia on March 29, 2019, when the boy told her that he needed to use the bathroom. So she pulled over at a gas station. But instead of bringing him to the restroom, she just let him pee in the parking lot because the boy could not hold it any longer.

During an interview, Johns said, “He’s like, ‘Mom, I’ve got to pee. I’ve got to pee!’ I was like, ‘Well, hold on,’ and he’s like, ‘No! I’ve GOT to pee! I’ve got to REALLY pee.’ And I’m like, ‘Baby, there’s nowhere for me to go, and he says, ‘Momma, I’m about to pee in my pants!”

Since she was very pregnant, she was not able to carry her little boy inside and use the bathroom. So she just let him urinate in the parking lot while doing her best to cover him.

She said, “I can’t pick him up. You know, I’m not supposed to lift him.”

She thought that nobody noticed, but a police officer walked over and confronted her. “I said ‘accidents happen.’ And he was like – ‘take him in the bathroom. What if I would have run in the bathroom and someone had been in there? What was I going to let him do? Pee on the floor of the gas station?”

In a Facebook post, she recounted the incident and explained that she was standing near her open car door when this happened. She said, “It isn’t like I had him in the wide open for the entire world to see. Yes, I should have taken him to the bathroom. Any other day I would have, but this day I didn’t have a chance to run inside… The only thing that was visible are his legs and his pee hitting the ground.”

Because of what happened, even though she was days before her due date, this pregnant mom still had to face the court date on a charge of disorderly conduct. This charge could make her spend 60 days in prison aside from paying up to $5,000 in fines!

Brooke Johns explained, “I’m going to court April 30. Several days before I am due. Yeah, I could extend it, but I would rather deal with it when I’m pregnant. Not when I have a newborn.”

This incident happened in 2019. She went to court a month later to contest her ticket. However, it was not resolved right away. But eventually, the court believed that Brooke Johns was just trying to be a good mom that day. Things came up and she did what she had to do in her situation.

And according to reports, Brooke Johns is no longer being charged with the disorderly conduct. An article from the WRDW/WAGT website states that the charges were dropped.
