Recently, a plane had to go back to the airport right after it took off because a mom on the plane realized she had accidentally left her baby at the airport.
The plane, which was flying from Jeddah to Kuala Lumpur for Saudi Arabian Airlines, had just started its journey. But then, the mom noticed her baby was still in the airport’s waiting area, as reported by Gulf News.
There’s a video that got shared online where you can hear the plane’s pilot talking to the people who help planes land and take off. It was during the weekend when this happened. In the video, you can hear the pilot explaining that a passenger forgot her baby in the airport and doesn’t want to fly without the baby.
Saudi Arabian Airlines hasn’t said anything about this when PEOPLE magazine asked them.
In the video, with some parts in Arabic and some in English, the pilot is heard asking if they can return to Jeddah because of the forgotten baby.
“Can we come back or what?” he asks, hoping for permission.
Then, someone helping planes from the ground is heard saying, “This flight wants to come back…a passenger left her baby back in the waiting area, poor thing.”
This person then tells others about the situation and asks the pilot to explain again what happened.
Finally, they tell the pilot, “OK, turn back to the gate. We’ve never dealt with something like this before!”
