Mom Shares Sunburn Hack That Worked Better Than Anyone Could Have Expected

Have you ever tried this for sunburn relief?

The window of Spring has closed and that of the summer is wide open. Now we are going to feel the touch of sun in its full fury. Considering that you will be outdoors on a regular basis, it will be really cool to wear sunscreen and reapply from time to time (and probably wear a facekini) , even with these, you might still find yourself with one or two sunburns or redness on the skin this season.

We bring Good news, though: google has got an absolute hack for aid from burns and redness on the skin.

Cindie allen-stewart wrote an article on facebook about an easy trick and cream that soothes sunburn and redness, and the article has gone viral both online and offline ever since. This trick involves applying a shaving cream that has menthol as one of the elements to the sunburned area for 30 minutes and then rinsing off.

Allen-stewart swears by this method for her family, and clearly, people all around are very interested in this skin-saving technique.

The main element in the shaving cream is menthol — so be sure to get a shaving cream that as menthol as one of the ingredients before applying it on your skin. Once you get that, here are allen-stewart’s’ instructions:

“Apply the shaving cream on the burnt area…. Do not rub it in, just make sure it stays on the surface of the skin …. Then, after about 30 minutes, the shaving cream would appear to have dissolved into the spots. It will then appear like its damp wet and a little dried out,” the post details. “you would begin to feel like you are getting a little cold, perhaps on the sunburned part of the body. THAT WOULD APPEAR TO BE A REAL GOOD SIGN! Next off, rinse it off with a lukewarm or cool shower or probably a sooty bath. It’s just to make sure you get rid of the residue that would linger on the skin.”

After reapplying the shaving cream once, you might probably have to wait for about 24 hours and then reapply to see any reduction in the redness of the skin.
‘the essential ingredient which is menthol has a cooling effect that does a good job at calming the discomfort of the sunburn and the redness of the skin,”

A dermatologist known as howard sobel told Allure. “if aloe vera happens to be in the shaving cream, it is going to work as an anti-inflammatory, and it help relieve the irritation of the area where its affected by fire”

A dermatologist once had the suggestion of making sure that the product was cool before applying it on the skin to make sure the entire process was even more enjoyable. “another part to the hack might be to put the foam or ice in the refrigerator to make sure its extremely cool – and extra soothing – when it goes on,” Dermatologist Rey hamidi told NewBeauty

This hack is going to be really good for relieving irritation o the skin, but the real thing is this trick is not undoing the damage of the skin caused by a sunburn, That’s why it I really recommended that you wear sunscreen and be sure to reapply every two hours.
