When a person does bad things to others, like physical violence, everyone is always hoping that karma would instantly catch up on them. Well, this ‘granny kicker’ surely got a taste of his actions. After his cruel act, it was discovered that he was working as a dishwasher at a fancy restaurant in the Tribeca neighborhood in manhattan.

A video of Marc Gomez, the dishwasher at this celebrity-favorite restaurant, surfaced after he was caught kicking an old woman in the head. Gomex and this old woman were riding in public transportation in New York City. While the old woman was holding on to the strap to keep her feet steady as the vehicle moved, Gomez started to abuse her. It was clear that he had violent intentions.

Since it was recorded, there was evidence. This made it easy for the police to find other people who can identify him. A worker at Franchette, a Tribeca eatery, was able to identify Gomex. So the police followed the lead and they were able to take this granny kicker into custody.

Another Frenchette worker also recognized Gomez in the video. They too could not believe that mild-mannered Gomez can be violent while in public. However, the evidence was clear and it cannot be denied that it was indeed Gomez in the video. Even though how much they liked Gomez, there is nothing that they can do about it.

It took days for the authorities to get to Gomez but once they did, they immediately handcuffed him right at his workplace. Gomez was charged with beating the 78-year-old woman while riding the train in New York. The incident happened on March 10.

Alexia Cox, Gomez’s fiance claimed that he was a chef and he manages a group of people. She said that Gomez just got a promotion and he ‘overseas people.’ She also claims that he has a lot of power at Franchette. Well, this is what his fiance knows about him. It seems like he was lying about a lot of things, especially regarding his employment. A spokesperson for the establishment explained that Gomez is a dishwasher and not a managerial chef. The spokesperson also claimed that after his arrest, he no longer works for the establishment.

Franchette was really embarrassed about what Gomez did. To cover-up for this bad publicity, Franchette held a star-studded event. They invited Sebastian Stan, Justin Theroux, and Lucas Hedges. The owners of the restaurant also released a statement to The New York Post. They wrote:

“…horrified and saddened to learn that one of our employees committed such an awful, unimaginable offense. When it was discovered that the unidentified person in the video was an employee, we responded immediately, extending full cooperation to law enforcement, and assisted as per their direction. Needless to say, this was an incredibly heinous, senseless act.”

Now, Gomez waits for his trial in New York. Everyone is hoping that the old woman would get the justice that she deserves.

No matter who you are or how powerful you claim to be, nobody has the right to hurt other people. It is still unclear as to why Gomez abused the old woman. A lot of people have speculations, but what is sure is that what he did was not right.
