Emergencies can pop up, and this can help you out
A lot of us have been in a situation where we lock our keys in a car. Or maybe it was someone else that did the honors for us. It happens when you decide to give your car a quick warm up in the morning, when you’re making a quick run, or when you’re just fooling around the house. Usually, when this happens the next words to come out of your mouth are a long “Ughhh” and some well-crafted curse.
It is actually quite common for people to lose their spare keys as well. These things happen. However, if you ever find yourself in a situation where you don’t have a pare key or a family member that you can give a call to get you some backup, then perhaps this hack will be able to help you out. Yu can try it if you will like to escape the entire lecture or scolding that will usually come from someone who you call to lend you a helping hand.
You can also try this hack if you don’t have enough money to pay a locksmith to help you with picking the lock of your car. However, what you will need is a car that has its locks at the top of the door and exposed. This trick won’t be able to help with locks that are inside the panel of the door.
Also, remember to only use this trick on your car; not a stranger’s (well, except if you get the proper permission)
What you will need is a string that is the length of your car door and an additional foot.
How to go about it
Tie a knot
Fold the string in half, then place a small slipknot at the center. When you hold up each end, it should tighten up
String it trough: Put the ends of the string in your hands, then slip the string over the frame of the door. It will fit right through the crack where the door and the frame meet.
Lasso the lock: Loop the lasso string over the knob of the lock, then pull it to that it is secured tightly around the entire lock
Give the lock a pop: Pull the ends of the string up until the lock is able to pop up
You can also watch this instructional video to see how you can do each of the quick steps. Also, if you will like to pull this off and you don’t have a regular string, a shoestring will work just as well. If your shoelace isn’t long enough, then you can also tie two of them together. If your car is one that unlocks y pulling open the handle from the inside, you can just as well try to slip the sting over the latch of the door.
We are all aware of the fact that DIY hacks like these are all over the Internet. Just remember that this s not an encouragement to join the criminal world. Sometimes, it’s good to know things like picking locks or busting out of handcuffs. Emergencies like these do happen.
You can have emergencies like lockouts. It is never nice when you get locked out of your house or car, so you can always be prepared. What if you can’t get to your phone- maybe because it is locked in somewhere you can’t reach?
