Do you know how important it is to care for the people around you, not just your family but also your neighbors?

A famous American actor showed the world what it means to really care for someone you live near.Chris Salvatore moved into his new apartment in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, in 2015. Right away, he noticed an 89-year-old lady, Norma Cook, living across the hall from him. She was always looking out her window, greeting him with a smile.Chris found out that Norma was living by herself with only her cat for company. So, he decided to visit her often. They quickly became great friends, enjoying lots of fun times together.Chris loved sharing their friendship online. He posted photos and videos of them having holiday parties or eating pizza in bed. People loved seeing Norma so much, she became more popular than Chris on his social media! But then, Norma got very sick with leukemia. The cost for her treatment was very high, so Chris asked people on the internet if they could help pay for it. They raised over $30,000 in just one night because so many people cared.Even with that help, Norma’s money for her treatments ran out. Chris came up with a kind idea. He invited Norma to live with him so she wouldn’t have to worry about her bills and he could take care of her.Chris says Norma helped him just as much as he helped her. She taught him how important love and kindness are.Norma was really grateful to spend her last days with Chris instead of in a hospital. She wanted to be at home with her friend and her cat. That’s exactly what happened, and she was happy.Sadly, Norma passed away after a couple of years. Chris shared how much Norma meant to him and what she taught everyone about love. This story really shows how powerful caring for others can be.Watch the video below to learn more about Chris and Norma’s incredible friendship!
