K9 dogs are super cool. They do really important work with the police and become best friends with the police officers they work with. This story is about a police dog who got super happy when she saw her old friend, a police officer, after a long time.

There’s a video from a place in China that shows this happy moment. It was shared by the Xichuan Police Department. The video is about Wangwang, a German shepherd who is 8 years old. She used to work as a sniffer dog, helping to find things because of her amazing sense of smell. She retired in June 2019, which means she stopped working.

Wangwang got a good home after retiring, but she missed her police officer friend a lot. So, when he surprised her with a visit after they hadn’t seen each other for years, Wangwang couldn’t hide her happiness. She ran up to him and it looked like she was crying because she was so happy to see him.

They had a really sweet time together. The officer petted Wangwang, and even though her fur was getting a bit white and she had gotten a bit chubby, it was clear they still loved each other a lot. The video said it’s hard to say goodbye to a friend, and that’s true.

Usually, K9 dogs like Wangwang live with their police officer friends even after they retire. But in Xichuan, the police officers are too busy to take care of retired dogs. So, even though it was sad that Wangwang and her officer friend couldn’t live together, they still have a strong friendship. Seeing how happy Wangwang was, it seems like this won’t be the last time the officer visits her.
