Dolly Parton’s Message For All ‘Cowards’ Who Are Refusing to Get COVID-19 Vaccines

Some people have their own opinions as to why they do not want to get vaccinated. However, the World Health Organization is encouraging everyone to be vaccinated for COVID-19 not only to protect themselves from the virus but also to protect the people around them.

Dolly Parton who has contributed a huge sum of money for the development of a COVID-19 vaccine has a message to those who do not want to get vaccinated.

Dolly Parton donated $1 million in 2020 to help develop Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine. The 75-year-old did not do it for herself, but for others. In her previous interview, she said, “I didn’t want to jump line. I didn’t donate the money so I could be protected. I did it for everybody.”

COVID-19 vaccines have been available to anyone who is 70-years-old and above for the Tennessee residents, Parton didn’t get her first dose until March 2, 2021. She got vaccinated on March 2 and she did it in front of a camera. Later on, she posted the video of this event on Instagram.

The video is captioned: “Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine.”

In the video, Parton says, “I’m very happy that I’m going to get my Moderna shot today.” There is no doubt that she feels proud that she was able to be a part of helping develop an effective COVID-19 vaccine.

In the video, she also shared the song she wrote that will try to inspire others to get vaccinated. Using her song “Jolene,” she changed its lyrics and sang “vaccine” instead of “Jolene.”

Then after her song, she got serious and said: “All of you cowards out there, don’t be such a chicken squat! Get out there and get your shot!”

Then she introduces her friend, Dr. Naji Abumrad, who gave her first dose of the Moderna vaccine.

The comment section was filled with comments praising Parton for her generosity. Some even could not help but notice her message to others when she said, “I’m old enough to get it, and I’m smart enough to get it.”

Have you been vaccinated yet? Did you know that Dolly Parton donated a million dollars to help develop the Moderna vaccine?

Once vaccines are proven to be safe and effective, they still need to be authorized by national regulators, be manufactured based on standards, and then later on distributed. These days, there are now several vaccines in use. The production and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines started in December 2020. And as of February 15, 2021, 175.3 million vaccine doses have been administered using at least 7 different vaccines.

World Health Organization has been working with partners all across the world to provide safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines for billions of people worldwide.

So why do we need the COVID-19 vaccine?

These vaccines produce protection against the disease. And as a result, it develops an immune response to the SARS-Cov-2 virus. Developing immunity through vaccination means that the human body will have a reduced risk of developing the illness as well as its consequences. And this immunity helps you fight the virus once exposed.

Getting vaccinated may also protect people around. If you are protected from getting infected and from COVID-19, you are also less likely to infect others you are close in contact with. And this is very important to protect people who have an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19, especially the healthcare providers, elderly adults, and people with other medical conditions.
