Katelen Green, who used to be called Cheshire, and her husband Billy Green from a place called Telford got married in November at a place called Stanford Farms in Shropshire. They didn’t have to pay for their wedding because the place and the people who gave them wedding stuff did it for free.
Katelen was 24 years old and was very sick with a tough kind of sickness called Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It was her third time fighting this sickness in 2023. The people at Stanford Farms said she was always happy and positive. They were very sad and shared their feelings on their Facebook page.
Katelen and Billy were really thankful to the 33 different people and businesses that gave things for their wedding without asking for money. At the beginning of the month, Katelen shared on a fundraising page that the doctors said they couldn’t do anything more to help her. She wanted to collect money for a special treatment so she could spend more time with her three-year-old son, but she passed away on a Saturday night.
Katelen had told a news place, the BBC, that their wedding was incredibly beautiful. She was very thankful to everyone who worked hard to make her and Billy’s wedding so special. She was especially thankful to her dad, who dressed up as Father Christmas and walked her down the aisle.
Everything for the wedding was given for free by 33 different businesses, including her wedding dress, the cake, someone to take photos, and the place where they got married. The people at Stanford Farms said that by helping with the wedding, they made a dream come true and that this beautiful day would always be remembered.
