Brooks Lindsey, a Soldier from Mississippi was racing home. He had a baby on his way and his wife was just about to give birth. But sadly he was unable to not able to make it in time for the birth of his daughter because his flight was delayed.

Lindsey and his wife Haley had a baby on his way, and Brooks knowing that it was almost time decided to head home to help his wife with final preparations. However, while on his way he got word that his wife had unexpectedly gone into labor and the doctors had to induce her right away because Haley had pre-eclampsia and the baby was under duress.
Haley on hearing the new immediately reached out Brooks through to the Red Cross per military protocol to tell him that the baby was on the way. Brooks scheduled a flight immediately but Haley’s flight broke 3 hours before the scheduled time for her husband’s flight.

To make matters even worse, his departure time was delayed by another two hours. hit with the realization that he won’t be able to beat his wife’s side to assist her with the delivery, or see their baby being born, the young soldier became frantic.

But Haley’s mother-in-law devised a sneaky way for brooks to witness the birth of his child. She contacted him through FaceTime and snuck her phone into the delivery room so that he could be present for the birth electronically which was a lot better than missing it altogether.

Brooks found a perfect spot and sat on the floor to watch his wife give birth to their beautiful daughter on the phone. They named the baby Millie Fritz Anne Lindsey. Rumors rippled across the airport and soon everyone got to know what was happening to the soldier dejectedly slumped against the wall. Tracy Dover was one of the people that were at the airport and she could resist taking a picture of the soldier as he anxiously participated in the birth of his child via Face-Time. Tracy’s photo of the raw emotions that raced across his anxious face has since gone viral.

She has shared the picture on social media and wrote “This Army soldier was on my delayed flight home yesterday to MS. He had to watch the birth of his daughter on FaceTime. He was crying and our hearts were breaking. We all gave him space. When we heard the baby cry, we all rejoiced for him. I wanted to share this because I never want us to forget about our soldiers who serve us every day and the sacrifices they make.”

Brooks wife also shared a video of her husband as he watched the birth. Everyone is praising the new dad for wanting to be near his wife during the birth and taking the next best option since he wasn’t able to make it there in person.

In fact, when airport officials were pushing Brooks to the board, the doctor delivering Millie screamed at the phone, “Don’t let him board the flight! She’s here! She’s here!”
Brooks was finally able to get on the plane home and the moment he landed at the airport, he headed straight to the hospital to meet his beautiful baby and his adorable wife. He was so happy they were alright after all.
