O.J. Simpson, once a famous football player who was in the news for being accused but not found guilty of harming his ex-wife and her friend in 1994, has passed away at the age of 76, his family shared. He died on April 10th after fighting cancer, surrounded by his kids and grandkids. They’ve asked for privacy during this tough time.
Last May, O.J. Simpson shared on social media, which was called Twitter back then, that he was battling cancer and going through chemotherapy. He thought he had beaten it. But in February 2024, news came out that he was getting treated for cancer again. Despite rumors, he said he wasn’t in end-of-life care and thanked everyone for their support, saying his health was pretty good.
O.J. Simpson, also known as “The Juice,” was a record-setting football player in college and the pros. He also worked as a sports commentator, acted in movies and TV, and was a spokesperson, notably for Hertz rental cars. His life changed dramatically in 1994 when his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, were found gone in a sad event. Simpson was soon a suspect.
The nation watched a slow car chase involving Simpson in a white Ford Bronco, leading to his arrest. His trial for the crime was watched by millions and ended with him being found not guilty. Years later, in 2007, he was in trouble again for a robbery in Las Vegas and was sent to prison but got out in 2017.
O.J. Simpson leaves behind four children: Arnelle and Jason from his first marriage, and Sydney and Justin, who were Nicole Brown Simpson’s kids.
