Julie Andrews, at the age of 88, is cherishing her time, delighting in her best-loved show tunes, as shared by sources on RadarOnline. Those close to the acclaimed actress from The Princess Diaries divulged that her Hamptons home echoes with melodies that uplift her spirits.
A dear friend mentioned, “Her consistent passion for music is evident. Each moment now is embraced with a deep sense of gratitude for the simple yet deeply touching joys of life.”
This friend added, “Her days are enriched by the sound of laughter from family and friends, the scent of fresh flowers, and the iconic tunes from Broadway!”

On October 1, Andrews celebrated her birthday. She was spotted at the Sag Harbor farmers market, selecting fresh flowers. Her vibrant aura was apparent, and she greeted the paparazzi with a smile, while leaning on her walking cane for support.
Recounting the previous year’s birthday, Andrews mentioned, “I spent it with family at home. The following evening, we dined out. The overwhelming amount of wishes and kind gestures deeply touched me.”
In a 2022 interaction with Vanity Fair, Andrews looked back at her groundbreaking role in the Disney classic, Mary Poppins, a performance that secured her the Best Actress Oscar.
Discussing her experience, she said, “Working on something novel like this for Walt Disney and singing the Vaudeville-esque songs of Mary Poppins was unique.” She continued, “Tracks like ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ and ‘Jolly Holiday’ reminded me of English vaudeville tunes, which was part of its charm.”
Andrews’ entry into the entertainment arena was marked by her legendary roles in Broadway hits such as My Fair Lady (1956) and Camelot (1960).

Her charisma remains undiminished. Recently, she was the voice behind Lady Whistledown, the mysterious narrator in the widely-watched Netflix series, Bridgerton.
In a chat with Entertainment Tonight, when inquired about making a physical appearance on Bridgerton, Andrews responded with a resounding no, saying, “The identity of Lady Whistledown is known. Hence, my role remains vocal. But I cherish it.”
Additionally, Andrews has lent her voice to animation, playing characters like Queen Lillian in the Shrek series and Marlena in the Despicable Me movies.
