Shelby Davis, the director of Soul Dog Rescue, embarked on an unexpected mission of kindness after a long 10-hour drive from Denver, Colorado, to Arizona for a work event. Upon her arrival at the hotel shortly before midnight, she discovered that check-in had concluded hours ago. As she looped around the parking lot, she came across a frail dog with a disheartened gaze.

Being well-versed in animal rescue, Davis swiftly discerned the necessity to help the forsaken creature. She cautiously approached the dog, who willingly allowed her to lift him and take him to her van. The dog, later named Braydon, was in a pitiful state – extremely malnourished with an unkempt coat. However, he brightened up as he found solace in Davis’ vehicle.

Molly Steele, who later became Braydon’s foster mom, mentioned to The Dodo that the pup was ecstatic to be rescued and showed no intention of leaving the van. After enduring hardships while fending for himself on the streets, Braydon swiftly bonded with Davis. He relished in the warmth and comfort of her company, feasting on food as they embarked on the lengthy journey back to Denver.

Upon arriving in Colorado, Davis didn’t waste time and took Braydon to the veterinarian the very next day. There, he received a much-needed bath, a check-up, and began undergoing treatment for his skin condition and weight issues.

Molly Steele, a volunteer at Soul Dog Rescue, was smitten with Braydon from the moment she met him. In less than a week, she decided to foster him. Braydon’s reaction to meeting Steele’s family was heartwarming; he showered them with affection, as if he had known them for a long time.

In addition to building relationships with his human family, Braydon had to acclimate to living with other dogs. Fortunately, he integrated seamlessly into his new canine family.
