Military Mom Puts Sticker On Her Back Window And Finds Startling Note On Her Car

Doug

Jodi St. Clair is a proud military mom, and she has every right to be proud of it, with two kids in the military, Jodi displays her status as a military parent with utmost pride. One of the stickers on her van reads: “My sons defend our freedom,” while the other says, “Proud parent of a soldier.” You can say she has one sticker for two of her sons. With one of them serving far away in Korea, and the other in North Carolina she is well aware of the travails of having kids in the military. Thankfully there are people in this world who are aware of this as well and in their little way shows appreciation.

One day as Jodi stepped out of the hair salon where she works, she noticed something on her windshield, she picked up the piece of paper thinking it was a business flyer. How wrong was she? In the supposed business flyer were a $20 bill and a handwritten from a stranger. The note which was addressed to her read:
“Dear ‘Proud Parent’: Please either send this $20 to your Army Soldier for a meal. If he/she is in the Middle East, either use it to buy a care or comfort kit or save it for his/her return. I pray for our military around the world every night, especially those serving in dangerous areas or one of our wars. Godspeed, Shelley.”

Jodi was impressed by the stranger’s gesture and decided to look for the Shelley who wrote the note to thank her for her kinds words and the money. She wasn’t the only one impressed by what the stranger did. Many people who read the story which was subsequently featured on Fox News were equally by the stranger’s actions. Some of the comments read:

“Thank you, Shelley. You brought tears of happiness to many, many eyes, including mine” another person wrote

“Amen. Great act of kindness. Thanks to all the men and women in the military. God bless the US.”

Of course, some of those who commented on the situation disputed whether the Shelley in question wanted to stay anonymous or not since Jodi said she wanted she wanted to find her. “The donor of the money and note should not be sought. She wasn’t looking for any acknowledgment; she wanted to commit a random act of kindness, which by definition is an anonymous act.” One person noted.

However, Jodi’s husband came forward to give some clarifications concerning the issue and gave updates about their search for the kind Shelley. He wrote: “What the newscast does not show is that the note has Shelley’s FULL name on it and is written on USO letterhead. The reason I know that is Jodi is my wife and the two boys, Jacob and Daniel, are my sons. We were able to find Ms. Woods and took her out to lunch last Friday.”

From one of the comments, one can tell that some people apart from Shelley show appreciation to parents of military officers as well. Another military parent who commented on the story also explained a similar encounter she had. “My two sons also serve in the army. And, yes, I have a sticker on my car. While stopped at a red light I had a woman yelling from her car next to me to thank them for their service. It made me smile!” she wrote

Even some people who commented showed their appreciation for the men who have chosen to live their life to protecting others and their parents, and some said a word of prayer for these men.
