So Far No One Has Come Close To Guessing Record-Breaking Birthweight Of This Newborn

The miracle of birth is one of the most incredible. What makes it even more spectacular is that you never know exactly what to expect but can only look forward to welcoming your adorable baby. For many Months parents wait in anticipation of the new life and God-given gift. More often than not, surprises happen that leave parents and even nurses in the delivery room stunned. It’s all part of God’s incredible gift to humanity in these little ones.

Whitney Hallet had no idea why she needed to have a cesarean section to give birth to her child. It wasn’t her first time giving birth; she has had three previous children and was looking forward to her fourth special child. But when her baby was placed in her hands after he was born, she realized why the doctors had to force her to have a C-section.

Whitney was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during her pregnancy, a not so unusual condition that occurs in a number of pregnant women. It could lead to serious complications in some cases. In most cases, however, women who have suffered from gestational diabetes usually give birth to heavier babies. With that in mind, Whitney was looking forward to a large baby. Doctors and nurses in the hospital also knew what to expect but nothing could have prepared them for what was going to happen in the delivery room when Whitney Hallet was delivered of her new baby boy Waylon.

When baby Waylon was born, nurses present in the delivery room were surprised at how large the baby was. But it wasn’t until they placed him on the scale did they realize how big the newborn really was. The nurses had to repeat the process three times just to be sure that the scale wasn’t broken because it was recording 16 pounds at first. It was unbelievable. Whitney’s husband who was just as surprised as the nurses said, “We ended up weighing him three times because no one could believe he actually weighed 16 pounds. At first, I thought maybe the scale was broken.”

This wasn’t Whitney and Edmond’s first delivery. Their previous children had weighed 8 pounds, 9 pounds, and 11 pounds respectively. But their newborn was a record-breaking 17 pounds and 7 ounces. It was astonishing. The newborn was almost the size of a 6-month-old infant when he was born in May 2017.

The new parents were no doubt shocked by their baby’s size but were excited and happy about it and have accepted their big bundle of blessing from God. Of course, they had to buy new clothes for little-big Waylon since all the other baby clothes they had wouldn’t fit. They even had to get new diapers too. Edmond said, “There was no way he was fitting into a newborn outfit.”

Due to his size, baby Waylon had some complications after his birth; he had trouble eating and breathing and had to be placed in NICU for about seven weeks until his health improved. He has since gone home with his new family who was more than excited to welcome the newest addition to their family. It’s was such an incredible experience for the family and anyone who sees baby Waylon would agree that he is such a big bundle of joy.
