Have you ever made someone else’s dream come true? This stranger surely has!
During a flight, it would be impossible that you will not hear someone complaining. It can be the lines, the delays, the lack of legroom, and sometimes there will be passengers who would insist to recline their seats the entire flight without thinking about the person behind them. This is annoying but definitely true. That is why it would be nice to hear good stories and experiences of some people while on board the airplane.
A man named Jack was traveling with his family from New York to London through a Virgin Atlantic flight. He met a fellow passenger, Violet, at the airport. Without thinking twice, Jack decided to switch seats to Violet.
Now, you have to take note that this is a big deal for Violet because she was seated in the back of the plane and Jack was flying first class. According to a flight attendant of Virgin Atlantic named Leah Amy, this 88-year-old woman’s dread had “always been to sit at the front.” Amy shared this heartwarming story on Facebook on December 10th. Her post quickly went viral!
Amy started her post by writing:
“Of the hundreds of flights I’ve operated, I’ve had the pleasure of looking after footballers, supermodels and some Hollywood movie stars but let me tell you about my two favourite passengers EVER!
Jack and Violet 💜 (I wish she was called Vera or Rose 🤣)”
Amy then continued to explain that Jack and his family purchased the seats in the “upper-class cabin” for their flight home from New York. However, Jack got on board, he went and looked for Violet at the economy seats and swapped seats with her. Jack then sat on the row of seats directly next to the economy toilets.
“…never made a peep or asked for anything the rest of the flight. No fuss, no attention, literally did it out of the kindness of his own heart, no one asked him too,” Amy wrote.
According to Amy’s post, Violet is 88 years old and has been a nurse both in the UK and also over in America. She travels to New York to see her daughter but she has not been able to do it for a while because of her knee replacement surgery. Her ultimate dream has always been to sit at the front. Thanks to Jack, that dream came true!
Amy added, “You should of seen her face, when I tucked her in her bed after supper ☺️She said her daughter won’t believe her, and wanted a ‘selfie’ to prove it, but didn’t have a phone or an email address. These photos are getting sent in the post tomorrow, can you even cope 😩😍❤️😭😊”
According to the Virgin Atlantic, they would not be able to give further details about Jack for privacy. But they did confirm the details of Amy’s Facebook post to Good Morning America.
A simple act of kindness goes a long way. Some people probably would never be able to do the same thing for someone else, but for Jack, this is probably his way of giving back for all the blessings that he received in his life.
