7 Newborn Pups Left In The Dumpster With Umbilical Cords Still Attached

Dogs can feel pain and they suffer too. This is why it is so difficult to comprehend how other people can leave them to die. Seven pups were thrown in a dumpster and was left there to die. Thankfully, someone found them and they were given another chance in life.

The Pet Network Humane Society received a call one day about these abandoned pups. Without thinking it twice, they opened their doors to these pups. They were more than ready to provide them the care and love that they need in order to survive.

These pups were so young when they were abandoned. And they would need 24-hour care after they were rescued since they were separated from their mother. They needed a warm bed to sleep in and would have to be bottle-fed after every couple of hours.

The sad thing is that when these pups were rescued, their umbilical cords were still attached to their bodies. It was clear that they were two-day-old litters when they were rescued from the dumpster. Three of them were male and the other four were female.

A couple of days in the rescue shelter and the pups started to open their eyes. Brittney Schilpp, the Pet Network spokeswoman told The Associated Press that all of the pups were healthy and looking great. She added, “They’re chubby and walking around. We’re no stranger to the scenario and lucky to have such a strong volunteer base to care for them.”

Sabrina Thomson, a veterinarian lab tech who is one of those who cared for the pups said, “I love them to death. It will be hard to see them go.”

Once they are ready, these pups will be spayed and neutered. They will also be micro-chipped before they would be put up for adoption. They were once in such a terrible and heartbreaking situation, but there is no doubt that they will soon find their forever homes and live a happy life. Thanks to the Pet Network Humane Society who definitely deserves all the credit for saving the lives of these puppies.

Taking care of newborn puppies is never easy, especially when they are separated from their mother. This is why it is very important that when you find a litter of puppies or even just one pup and it looks like a newborn pooch, take them to the nearest veterinary clinic or rescue shelter right away. They have people there who will know what to do.

Remember that newborn puppies need to spend their first few weeks in a box or in a pen if mom is not available. They need warmth because they would not be able to maintain their body temperature. Nursing them and providing proper nutrition is extremely important. This is why the rescued pups mentioned above were bottle-fed. Since mom will not be able to breastfeed them, they need to gain the weight and receive the nutrition that their body needs in order to survive.

They are young and would be highly susceptible to disease and infection. If you bring them to a vet or a rescue shelter, all of these needs will be provided. They have the right knowledge and experience in handling newborn pups.
